Kid's Mini Summer Yoga Camp

  • Description:

    Kids ages 6-11 join us for our first annual Kid’s Mini Summer Yoga Camp! Choose Session 1 (July 26th-30th) or Session 2 (August 2nd-6th) OR BOTH! Camp runs from 9 AM- 12 Noon each day.

    Kids will enjoy yoga, games, crafts, activities, nature walks, mindfulness and much needed social time with peers.

    Camp will take place mostly outdoors, but there will be indoor options in case of inclement weather. Light snack and refreshments will be provided.

    Please plan to bring your own mat, a water bottle, sunscreen, and wear your mask. Safety protocols including sanitizing will be in effect to keep everyone safe.

    Camp will be led by Michele Anderson, children’s yoga teacher and certified K-12 special education teacher.

    Cost is $250 per child, which includes all materials, snack, and yoga fun. Sibling discount is available.

    Camp takes place at Inner Light Children’s Yoga private studio and grounds in Red Hook, NY.

    Space is limited, so please reserve your child’s spot early.

Children's Physio Yoga for Different Abilities

  • Description:
    Summer is a time for fun and relaxation, but it can also be a time when children lose ground on valuable progress made during the previous school year. This program is designed to assist your child in staying on track with their school-based physical therapy and social goals through yoga, games, activities and more!
    Children ages 4- 17  with special needs are invited to join us for this one-of-a-kind 4- week summer yoga series. In this program, children will have the opportunity to:
    Engage in individual and group physical therapy exercises
    Enjoy sensory play
    Enjoy outdoor exploration and activities (weather permitting)
    Receive optional Reiki energy work for relaxation
    Participate in songs and games
    Experience yoga
    Receive sensory input through the use of an aerial yoga hammock
    Receive continued support for IEP goals during the summer
    Receive language skills support
    Receive social skills support
    Improve self-regulation
    Each child will engage in both group and individual yoga poses/activities while also receiving individual attention to address specific goals on his/her IEP pertaining to: gross motor control, gait mechanics, balance, proximal/core stability, sensory integration, tissue length/strength, and so much more.
    This class is perfect for children on the Autism Spectrum.
    Class sessions will have a maximum of 2 students total, with a 1:1 student-teacher ratio, so that each student will be properly supported.
    Total number of students being accepted for this program is 8.

    Classes are 1 hour in length. Multiple sessions will run each week to accommodate total number of students.
    This class series is led by by Michele Anderson and Dr. Kristina Jamo, PT, DPT.

    Interested parents will be provided with an intake form so we can learn more about your child and his/her individual strengths and needs.
    Summer is a time for fun and relaxation but it’s also important to keep skills and abilities sharp so that returning to school in the fall can be an easy transition. We look forward to helping your child maintain skills this summer!
